Welcome to Kay Jay Olson Music!

Hello there you beautiful human!

Thank you for stopping by, coming back, or passing through today. My name is Kay Jay Olson, and I am a music educator, vocal coach, performer, dancer and composer living and thriving in Minneapolis, MN!

I’m a recent graduate of Augsburg University where I earned my Master’s Degree in Education emphasizing teaching artistry in music. Previously, I attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where I studied Musical Theatre Performance and went on to a year of conservatory work at the Theatre Lab School of Dramatic arts in Washington, DC.

I believe in a collaborative approach to music, performance and education, and am hoping to create more opportunities for marginalized groups in the Twin Cities and beyond to thrive and flourish in the performing arts. As an educator, I work to meet students where they are and to help them build up a wealth of skills that are related to their goals and dreams to ensure they reach their full potential! As a performer and composer, I believe in offering performance opportunities and roles that give performers from outside of the box to learn, grow, and flourish while experiencing the joy of performance for themselves.

To that end, I am currently adapting an original album of music into a musical entitled Inner Demons, which I hope to begin producing as we come out the other side of the pandemic and can safely create in person again!

Feel free to join my mailing list for updates on that and other compositions I have produced in the past, and hope to produce in the future.

Come along on my journey with me!

❤ Kay Jay
